EdenPURE and SunTWIN Heaters are designed to be used as a supplemental source of heat under ideal conditions.  (Ideal conditions consist of an open floor plan with an 8" standard ceiling and insulation with a high R value)  EdenPURE and SunTWIN Heaters  will run at optimal performance when used as followed: Turn your existing furnace up to your desired temperature Turn the EdenPURE/SunTWIN Heater ON and allow to run along with your existing heat source. Once your furnace reaches the desired temperature, turn the furnace down approximately 5 - 10 degrees. The EdenPURE/SunTWIN Heater should maintain the desired temperature you have set on the furnace prior to setting back 5 - 10 degrees and you will rarely see your furnace kick on. When EdenPURE/SunTWIN Heaters are used in this manner, you should see a decrease in your current heating bill and experience a healthier and softer heat. EdenPURE GEN 3, SunTWIN GEN 3 and EdenPURE Signature Series Models       To assure maximum performance, please note the following recommendations: For best result, do not locate the heater in an area with a high rate of air filtration and movement as the warm air will be exhausted. Try placing the heater near a warmer inside wall and direct the output towards a cooler outside wall.  The cooler outside wall will tend to draw the generated heat towards itself, which will allow for more efficient heating. Placing the heater next to a cold air return will draw the heat away from the area to be heated.  Try closing or covering the cold air return.  This will allow for more efficient heating.  Experiment with the placement of the heater to see what works best for you. To ensure maximum efficiency, a 40% (minimum) relative humidity should be maintained in the heated environment. The heaters are designed to operate for maximum efficiency up to 80-82 degree range.  Due to the soft heat concept, temperatures at 68 degrees feel as though it were 72 degrees.  This is due to the heat mixing with humidity evenly for "head-to-toe" comfort. When the heater is placed in an isolated area, i.e. basement or recreation area, the delivery registers and air return grills of the existing system should be closed in that area if possible. Try placing the heater a few feet above the floor in rooms with large areas of bare concrete.  Make sure the heater is secure and won't fall.  This will allow for more efficient heating since concrete acts as a heat sink and will tend to draw the heat in its direction. Try lowering your central heating system to a lower temperature and placing the heater in the area you spend the majority of your time.  Now set the EdenPURE/SunTWIN heater to your comfort level.  After all, there is not point to heating multiple rooms to 68+ degrees when not in use. When heating larger areas, place the heater in a central location.  If a ceiling fan is near-by, try using it at the same time to help distribute the heat evenly. If used in an extremely dirty or dusty area, the filter must be cleaned more frequently as the filter can clog and cause the heater to stop working. Always unplug the heater when it is not in use.   Filter Maintenance - EdenPURE GEN 3 and SunTWIN GEN 3     The heater comes equipped with a washable lifetime filter which is easy to clean.  The manufacture recommends the filter to be cleaned regularly as needed.  To do this, follow these steps: Press the tab on the top of the filter to release the filter and pull it straight out of the unit.                          Run warm tap water over the filter, the opposite direction of air flow, until the water runs clear.  The filter might excrete some filtered residue, so be cautious not to drip on any stainable surfaces such as carpeting.  You can also soak the filter in water mixed with a small amount of mild dish soap (don't forget to rinse with water after soaking the filter). Shake the filter over a sink until excess water is removed and allow it to drip dry completely before reinstalling.  DO NOT force the filter to dry using any alternative methods. Reinstall the filter to the rear of the unit by positioning the filter back in place.   Filter Maintenance - EdenPURE Signature Series Model  The heater comes equipped with a washable lifetime filter which is easy to clean.  The manufacture recommends the filter to be cleaned regularly as needed.  To do this, follow these steps: Push up on the filter, then lift it straight out over the brackets. Use a vacuum attachment to remove dust from the filter or run warm tap water over the filter, the opposite direction of air flow, until the water runs clear.  The filter might excrete some filtered residue, so be cautious not to drip on any stainable surfaces such as carpeting.  You can also soak the filter in water mixed with a small amount of mild dish soap (don't forget to rinse with water after soaking the filter). Shake the filter over a sink until excess water is removed and allow it to drip dry completely before reinstalling. DO NOT force the filter to dry using any alternative methods. Reinstall the filter to the rear of the unit by positioning the filter back in place. Important Safety Tip: EdenPURE and SunTWIN Heaters should only be plugged into electrical outlets that provide a secure, snug connection.  A loose fit between the heater plug and an electrical outlet may cause over-heating and distortion of the plug.  If the plug does not fit securely into the outlet, or the plug becomes very hot, the outlet may need to be replaced prior to further use.  Only use a qualified repairman to replace electrical outlets! Avoid the use of an extension cord unless absolutely necessary.  Using an improper extension cord may cause over-heating and risk of fire.  If you must use an extension cord, it must be a 14 Gauge 3 Wire cord with a grounding cord connector.
